Products Sold
Products Sold lists the products you sold in a date range, with the orders, items and sales for each, so you can see which products bring in the most.

How It’s Calculated
Each row is one product. The columns are:
- Product: the product’s name and image. Select it to open the product’s page.
- Orders: the number of orders that include the product.
- Items Sold: the number of items sold, across all of its variants.
- Gross Sales: each item’s price times its quantity, before discounts, shipping, tax and returns.
- Discounts: the discounts Shopify records on those items.
- Net Sales: Gross Sales minus Discounts. It leaves out shipping and returns, and adds no tax.
The table lists up to 100 products, with the highest Gross Sales first. You can sort by any column, but a product outside those 100 never appears, whatever the sort.
The name shown is the product’s title on the order. A product renamed during the date range can appear in two rows, one for each name it sold under. Custom items, which have no product in Shopify, are listed by their title.
What Counts
- Orders that were canceled, or whose payment was voided or expired, don’t count.
- Refunds and returns aren’t taken off. A refunded item still counts as sold.
- Dates follow your store’s time zone, and amounts are in your store’s currency.
- With a Segment picked, only orders from customers in that segment count. Sales Channel and Filters limit the report to matching orders.
This report has no Compare control and no totals row. Pinned to a dashboard, it can show a bar chart of the 10 products with the most Net Sales.
What Good Looks Like
There’s no target. Most stores have a few products that bring in most of the sales, and a long tail that sells little. Look at how steep that drop is, and whether the top rows are the products you expected.
A big gap between Gross Sales and Net Sales on a product means customers bought it on discount.
What to Do About It
- A product at the top: keep it in stock, and check Product Velocity to see whether its orders are still rising.
- A large Discounts figure: open Promotion Efficiency by Product to see which discount codes are behind it.
- A product you expected isn’t listed: its Gross Sales are lower than the 100th product’s. Shorten the date range or add a Filters rule to narrow the list.
- A different grouping: use Products Sold by SKU, Products Sold by Vendor, Products Sold by Collection or Products Sold by Tag.
