Products Sold by SKU

Products Sold by SKU lists the items you sold by SKU, so you can plan stock for each size, color or other variant.

The Products Sold by SKU report, a table with one row per SKU and its items sold, gross sales, discounts and tax.

How It’s Calculated

Each row is one SKU. The columns are:

  • SKU: the SKU recorded on the order’s line item.
  • Items Sold: the number of items sold with that SKU.
  • Gross Sales: each item’s price times its quantity, before discounts, shipping, tax and returns.
  • Discounts: the discounts Shopify records on those items.
  • Tax: the tax Shopify records on those items.

The table lists up to 100 SKUs, with the highest Gross Sales first. It has no Net Sales column: subtract Discounts from Gross Sales to get it.

The SKU comes from the order, as it was when the item sold. If you change a variant’s SKU later, past sales stay under the old one. Two products that share a SKU count in one row.

An item with no SKU recorded isn’t listed, so the rows can add up to less than your store’s sales. A blank SKU shows as (no SKU).

What Counts

  • Orders that were canceled, or whose payment was voided or expired, don’t count.
  • Refunds and returns aren’t taken off. A refunded item still counts as sold.
  • Dates follow your store’s time zone, and amounts are in your store’s currency.
  • With a Segment picked, only orders from customers in that segment count. Sales Channel and Filters limit the report to matching orders.

This report has no Compare control, no chart and no totals row.

What Good Looks Like

There’s no target. The report is as useful as your SKUs are consistent. If each variant has its own SKU, the rows show which sizes and colors sell and which sit.

What to Do About It

  • A SKU that sells fast: check your stock for it. Inventory Demand shows the products and variants at risk of running out.
  • A SKU that barely sells: consider a discount, a bundle or dropping it.
  • Sales missing from the list: add SKUs to those variants in Shopify.
