How to Choose Which Ad Accounts Sync
You choose which ad accounts By the Numbers pulls campaigns and spend from. Only the accounts you check sync, so your reports show the spend of those accounts and no others. This works the same for Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads and Reddit Ads.
Before You Start
- The ad platform is connected on Integrations. For the connecting steps, see How to Connect Google Ads, How to Connect Meta Ads, How to Connect TikTok Ads or How to Connect Reddit Ads.
- You need the Manage integrations permission in By the Numbers. Without it, the Configure button doesn’t appear.
Steps
Right After Connecting
- On Integrations, click Connect on the platform’s card. When the connection finishes, a dialog opens by itself with the platform’s name, such as Configure Meta Ads.
- Every ad account the login can reach is checked. Uncheck any you don’t want. Select All and Select None help with a long list.
- Click Save.
Each account shows its name and currency. Save stays unavailable until at least 1 account is checked.
Nothing syncs until you save. If you closed the dialog, the card shows Setup Required under Needs attention. Click Finish Setup to open it again.
Changing the Accounts Later
- Open Integrations.
- Click Configure on the platform’s card. The card’s menu, at the top right, has Configure too.
- Check or uncheck accounts.
- Click Save.
The dialog lists the accounts live from the platform each time it opens, so a new ad account appears without reconnecting. A card under Needs attention shows Details in place of Configure, unless it asks you to Finish Setup.
What Happens Next
The first save starts the first sync. It fetches up to a year of campaigns and spend for every account you chose, and the card shows Syncing until it’s done.
A later change only touches the accounts that changed:
- A new account: By the Numbers fetches up to a year of its campaigns and spend. The card shows Syncing until it finishes.
- An account you unchecked: its stored campaigns and spend are deleted, and your reports stop showing them.
- An account you left checked: it keeps all its history.
Some campaign and spend data from before September 2026 doesn’t record which ad account it came from. By the Numbers keeps that data when you uncheck an account, since it may belong to an account you kept. If it came from the account you unchecked, that spend stays in your reports.
If you check an account again later, only up to a year of its history comes back. Anything older is gone for good, so uncheck an account only if you need to.
If an Account Is Missing
- Google Ads: the list shows only enabled accounts, and leaves out manager accounts.
- No accounts found: the dialog says no ad accounts were found for the connection. The login you connected can’t reach any ad account on that platform.
- The list won’t load: close the dialog and try again in a moment.
Where the Choice Is Used
Your choice decides which accounts’ campaigns and spend appear on Advertising and in the Campaign Performance report.
It’s separate from the account a segment syncs to, which you pick on the segment: see How to Sync a Segment. With das Pixel, the places it can send purchases to come from the accounts you sync: see How to Send Conversions to Your Ad Platforms.
