Pulse

Pulse is a weekly and monthly briefing on your store: what changed, what drove it, and what to do next. The figures come straight from your store’s data. Copilot writes the story around them.

Open Pulse from the top of the navigation. When your store can use Pulse, it’s also the page By the Numbers opens on when you sign in.

Pulse on the Month tab, with the headline figures, the daily sales chart and the story card

How It Works

Week, Month and Over Time

Pulse has 3 tabs:

  • Week covers Monday to Sunday and compares it with the week before.
  • Month covers the 1st to the last day of the month and compares it with the same month last year. The headline figures also show the change from the month before.
  • Over Time lists recent summaries, newest first, with each one’s headline and mood: the last 26 weeks, or the last 13 months. Switch between Week and Month at the top of the list.

Pulse opens on Month. Until your store’s first monthly summary is ready, Month is locked and Pulse shows Week instead.

Use the arrows beside the tabs to step back through earlier weeks or months.

Weeks and Months Still in Progress

While a week or month is still under way, the line under the tabs reads “Week so far” or “Month so far” and ends with “updates daily”. The figures cover every complete day to date, in your store’s time zone.

Comparisons are matched to the same number of days. A month that’s 12 days in is compared with the first 12 days of the earlier months, not with their whole length.

What’s on the Page

  • Headline figures: Total Sales, Total Orders, Customers and Average Order Value. Each shows its change: “WoW” is week over week, “YoY” is year over year and “MoM” is month over month.
  • A daily sales chart: each day’s sales against the week or month before. While the period is open, a dashed Forecast line shows where the rest of it is heading, once your store has at least 90 days with orders.
  • Traffic & Conversions: sessions and conversion rate from das Pixel when it’s installed. Without das Pixel, they come from Google Analytics, when it’s connected. The card can also show sales per session, a funnel from session to order and sessions by channel.
  • Customers & Retention (Month only): New Customers, Repeat Purchase Rate, Refund Rate and Discount Dependency.
  • Advertising: Ad Spend, Reported ROAS, Clicks and Cost per Click, when an ad platform is connected.
  • das Pixel Attribution: sales das Pixel traced to a paid ad click, when das Pixel is installed and an ad platform is connected.
  • Klaviyo Email & SMS: Klaviyo Revenue, Avg Open Rate and Avg Click Rate, when Klaviyo is connected.
  • Top Products and Discount Impact: your best-selling products and the discount codes used in the period, with the orders and sales behind each.

A section only appears when there’s data for it. Where something isn’t connected, Pulse shows a prompt to connect it instead.

The Story, Do Next and Looking Ahead

Alongside the figures, Pulse shows 3 cards:

  • This Week’s Story or This Month’s Story: a mood (Strong, Tough, Mixed or Steady), a headline and 3–5 short insights.
  • Do Next: up to 5 next steps, ranked by impact. Setup tasks come first, then Copilot’s suggestions.
  • Looking Ahead: where this month, quarter and year are heading, against the full month, quarter and year before. When there’s not enough history to forecast, it shows the total so far.

The Unusual Badge

Total Sales, Total Orders or Average Order Value can carry an Unusual badge. It marks the single day in the period that landed furthest outside its expected range, based on the 120 days before. Hover over the badge to see the day, its value and the expected range.

The tooltip also compares that day with the same weekday over the 4 weeks before. It names each segment that stood out, such as a country or a traffic source, or says that none did. At most one day gets the badge per summary, and many summaries have none.

How the Summary Is Written

Every figure on the page is calculated from your store’s data. Copilot writes only the mood, the headline, the insights and its suggested next steps. It’s told to explain a change only with drivers that were measured.

The footer says the last day of data the summary covers.

The story can also compare your last 90 days with stores like yours. That needs a store category on the Business Profile page. This comparison is in beta.

The comparison needs at least 25 stores. It starts with stores in your category, size and country. When there aren’t enough, it widens to your category and size, then your category, then all stores.

When Pulse Updates

  • A new weekly summary is built each Monday for the week that just ended.
  • A new monthly summary is built on the 1st for the month that just ended.
  • While a week or month is open, its figures refresh once a day. Copilot rewrites the story only when something material has changed.

While a new store’s first summary is being built, Pulse shows Preparing your Pulse. The summary appears on its own when it’s ready.

What It Means for You

Start the week on Week and the month on Month. Read the story first, then check the figures behind it, then work through Do Next from the top.

Snooze a setup task you don’t need yet with the X beside it. That hides it for everyone on your team for 7 days.

Dismiss a connect prompt and it stays hidden for everyone on your team. To bring one back, open Preferences and choose the Dismissed tab.

If you see Analytics Tracking Looks Broken, the source it names, das Pixel or Google Analytics, reported no sessions while your store took orders. Choose Fix Tracking to check the connection. Traffic insights stay paused until tracking works again.
