Business Profile

The Business Profile is what you tell By the Numbers about your store. It holds the store’s category, your main goal, where you advertise and a short note on what you want help with.

Copilot uses it as context, and the category decides which stores yours is compared with.

Open Business Profile, under Settings in the navigation.

How It Works

The Fields

The page has 2 cards. Every field is optional.

Store Category is the kind of store you run. By the Numbers picks one when it reads your storefront, and the card says Auto-detected until you set one yourself. Choose another from the menu and select Save Store Category.

Your choice stays, and a later re-read of your storefront doesn’t replace it.

This card appears only when Stores Like Yours is available.

What You’re Working On holds 3 answers, saved together with Save Profile:

  • Primary Goal: Grow revenue, Improve customer retention, Reduce wasted ad spend, Understand my customers, Something else, or Not set.
  • Where Do You Advertise?: pick every platform you run paid ads on from Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, Reddit Ads and Microsoft Ads. Or pick I Don’t Run Paid Ads.
  • Anything specific you’d love help with?: a sentence or two in your own words, up to 500 characters.

I Don’t Run Paid Ads can’t be combined with a platform. Picking it clears the platforms, and picking a platform clears it. Select a picked platform again to remove it.

Where You Answer It First

Guided setup asks these questions when you install. About Your Store asks for your main goal and an optional note. Ads & das Pixel asks where you advertise.

The second step is named Your Ads when das Pixel isn’t open to your store yet.

Guided setup also asks for your role. That answer is personal to you, and it’s on your own profile, not on this page.

Who Can Change It

Anyone on your team can change the Business Profile. It needs no permission, and a read-only member can edit it. The profile is shared by the whole store.

Every change to your category, goal, advertising platforms and note is listed in the Audit Log under Store Settings.

What It Means for You

Copilot

Copilot reads your goal, your advertising platforms and your note before it answers. It treats them as background about your store. It doesn’t follow your note as an instruction.

The answer says where you advertise, not what is connected. If you pick I Don’t Run Paid Ads, Copilot is told you run no paid ads.

Setup Suggestions

The platforms you pick change what By the Numbers suggests:

  • In guided setup, Connect Your Stack lists your platforms first, under Recommended for You.
  • The Do Next list on Pulse suggests connecting each platform you picked that isn’t connected yet. Microsoft Ads is not suggested.
  • With I Don’t Run Paid Ads, the Do Next step that asks a das Pixel store to connect an ad platform isn’t shown.

Picking a platform doesn’t connect it. Connect it on Integrations.

Stores Like Yours

Your Store Category decides which stores yours is compared with. A wrong category moves every comparison, so check it first if the numbers look off. The comparison updates when you save.

Your goal, advertising platforms and note don’t affect the comparison.
