Geo of Sessions vs Revenue
Geo of Sessions vs Revenue compares where your visitors come from with where your revenue comes from, country by country. It shows which markets send more traffic than sales.

How It’s Calculated
Each row is one country, with the most sessions first. A session is placed by its first event inside the date range. The columns are:
- Country: the country’s name.
- Sessions: visits from that country.
- Conversions: the number of those sessions that ended in a purchase.
- Conversion Rate: Conversions divided by Sessions.
- Revenue: the value of those purchases. It is the total of the Shopify order each purchase links to: items minus discounts, plus shipping, plus tax that isn’t already in the prices, minus refunds. Where das Pixel couldn’t match an order, it uses the value it saw at checkout.
- Revenue per Session: Revenue divided by Sessions.
- Opportunity Index: the country’s share of sessions divided by its share of revenue.
- Order Linked: the share of conversions that matched a Shopify order.
The 2 globes above the table are Sessions by Country and Revenue by Country. Each shades the countries by its figure.
The Opportunity Index
An index above 1 means a country sends a larger share of your sessions than of your revenue. An index below 1 means it brings more of your revenue than of your traffic. An index of 1 means the 2 shares match.
The index is blank for a country with no revenue.
The shares are taken over the countries listed, which are the sessions with a country recorded. A country’s index changes when another country’s revenue changes.
The country comes from the visitor’s IP address, which das Pixel looks up when it records the visit. A session with no country is left out. Consent & Tracking Coverage Health shows the share of sessions with a country recorded.

What Counts
- Visitors who declined analytics cookies, or who opted out of the sale or sharing of their data while Require Sale-of-Data Consent is on, aren’t recorded. Known bots are left out.
- Only events inside the date range count, in your store’s time zone.
- Turn on Live to refresh the report every 30 seconds. Without it, a figure can be up to 10 minutes old.
A warning shows above the report when das Pixel saw less than 70% of your online-store orders in the last 30 days. This report has no Segment, Sales Channel or Filters control.
What Good Looks Like
There’s no target. A country with an index well above 1 and many sessions is a place where visitors come and don’t buy as much as the rest of your store. A country with an index well below 1 buys more than its traffic suggests.
A country with few sessions can show an extreme index from a handful of visits.
What to Do About It
- An index above 1 with many sessions: check shipping costs, prices and the currency shown for that country.
- An index below 1: consider more marketing in that country, because its visitors convert well.
- A country with sessions and no revenue: look at the sessions in Sessions Explorer to see how far visitors get.
Visitor Geography shows the same sessions by region and city.
