Consent & Tracking Coverage Health

Consent & Tracking Coverage Health shows how much of your store das Pixel sees, and how completely it fills in the fields the Web Analytics reports use.

The Consent & Tracking Coverage Health report, with eight summary cards, a chart of online-store orders and checkouts seen by das Pixel and a table of coverage rates with their status.

How It’s Calculated

The table has 7 rows. Each has a Fill Rate and a Status. The first row is the one to read first.

The rows are:

  • Orders Seen by Pixel: the checkouts das Pixel saw, divided by your online-store orders in the date range. It is the ceiling on how much of your revenue the other reports can describe.
  • Analytics Consent: the share of sessions where the visitor allowed analytics.
  • Marketing Consent: the share of sessions where the visitor allowed marketing. Referrers, landing pages and UTM tags need it, and Track Marketing on.
  • Checkout Tracking: the share of sessions that reached checkout or bought.
  • Geo Resolution: the share of sessions with a country recorded.
  • UTM Tagging: the share of sessions that started with a UTM source. This includes the source das Pixel fills in from an ad click ID.
  • Identified Visitors: the share of sessions that started with a logged-in customer.

Status is Healthy at 70% or more, Partial from 30% to 69% and Low below 30%. For Orders Seen by Pixel, it is No Orders when you had no online-store orders in the range.

The 8 cards above the table show the same rates. Orders Seen by Pixel also shows the counts, such as 480 of 600 online-store orders. A card called Checkouts Linked to an Order is the share of the checkouts das Pixel saw that it matched to a real Shopify order.

A low figure means das Pixel saw the checkout and the order didn’t link, which is a different problem from not seeing it.

The online-store orders are the orders placed on your online store, canceled ones included.

Point-of-sale, draft, phone and other orders have no browsing session, so they aren’t counted. A visitor who declined analytics cookies, or opted out of the sale or sharing of their data, isn’t recorded. The rate has a ceiling you can’t raise.

Checkout Tracking is the share of all sessions, so it is low even when tracking works, because most visits never reach checkout. Its Status can read Low for that reason. Use it to check that checkouts are recorded, not as a target.

The Chart

The chart draws your online-store orders and the checkouts das Pixel saw for each period. Switch it between a line and bars. A period is an hour for a date range of up to 3 days, a day for up to 93 days, and a month beyond that.

An order is counted when Shopify processes it, and a checkout when it happens. A single period can show more checkouts than orders. Read the rate across the whole range.

What Counts

  • Visitors who declined analytics cookies, or who opted out of the sale or sharing of their data while Require Sale-of-Data Consent is on, aren’t recorded. Known bots are left out.
  • Only events inside the date range count, in your store’s time zone.
  • Turn on Live to refresh the report every 30 seconds. Without it, a figure can be up to 10 minutes old.

This report has no Compare, Segment, Sales Channel or Filters control. The other Web Analytics reports show a warning when Orders Seen by Pixel for the last 30 days is below 70%.

What Good Looks Like

There’s no fixed target. A Healthy status on Orders Seen by Pixel means the other reports describe most of your online-store revenue.

A low Marketing Consent limits the reports that rely on referrers, landing pages and UTM tags. A low UTM Tagging can mean your links aren’t tagged. It can also mean visitors didn’t allow marketing, or that Track Marketing is off.

What to Do About It

  • A low Orders Seen by Pixel: check that das Pixel is connected, and that your consent banner isn’t blocking analytics for most visitors.
  • A low Checkouts Linked to an Order: orders can take hours to link. Check again later before you act.
  • A low UTM Tagging: tag your ads and links: see How to Tag Your Ads with UTM Parameters.
  • A low Geo Resolution or Identified Visitors: no action is needed. These depend on the visitors’ browsers and on logins.
