Entry Pages

Entry Pages lists the first page of each visit to your store, with its sessions, bounce and conversion rate. It shows which landing pages bring visitors who stay and buy.

The Entry Pages report, with two summary cards and a table with one row per entry page.

How It’s Calculated

Each row is one entry page: the address of the first page view in a session inside the date range. The table lists every address, with the most sessions first. The columns are:

  • Entry Page: the full address of the page, including anything after a ?, such as UTM tags.
  • Sessions: visits that started on that page.
  • Visitors: the number of different browsers.
  • Bounce Rate: the share of those sessions with only 1 event recorded.
  • Conversion Rate: the share of those sessions that ended in a purchase.

The address includes the part after the ?, so the same page reached through 2 links with different tags is 2 rows. Add the rows together to get the page’s total.

Sessions with no address recorded show as (unknown). das Pixel records the address only for visitors who allowed marketing, while Track Marketing is on. (unknown) holds every other visit.

Select a row to open Sessions Explorer with that entry page and date range.

Summary Cards

The cards above the table are Sessions and Visitors. They add up every row, so Visitors counts a person once for each entry page they used. With Compare on, each card shows its change, and the table shows the change in Sessions, Bounce Rate and Conversion Rate for each row.

What Counts

  • Visitors who declined analytics cookies, or who opted out of the sale or sharing of their data while Require Sale-of-Data Consent is on, aren’t recorded. Known bots are left out.
  • Only events inside the date range count, in your store’s time zone.
  • Turn on Live to refresh the report every 30 seconds. Without it, a figure can be up to 10 minutes old.

A warning shows above the report when das Pixel saw less than 70% of your online-store orders in the last 30 days. This report has no Segment, Sales Channel or Filters control.

What Good Looks Like

There’s no target. A good entry page has a lower Bounce Rate and a higher Conversion Rate than your other entry pages. Look at both, with the number of sessions behind them.

A page with few sessions can show a very high or low rate from a handful of visits.

What to Do About It

  • An entry page with many sessions and a high Bounce Rate: check that the page matches the link or ad that sends visitors to it.
  • An entry page with a high Conversion Rate: send more traffic to it, or copy what it does.
  • The same page in several rows: add the rows together, or open Pages, which groups by the page without its tags.
