Product Attach Rate

Product Attach Rate shows which products customers add to an order that already holds another product, so you can find pairs worth cross-selling.

The Product Attach Rate report, with three summary cards and a table of product pairs with their co-orders, confidence, support and lift.

How It’s Calculated

Each row is a pair of products, read in one direction: orders with the Source Product also hold the Attached Product. The same pair appears twice, once in each direction.

The columns are:

  • Source Product and Attached Product: the 2 products in the pair.
  • Co-orders: the number of orders in the date range that hold both.
  • Confidence: Co-orders divided by the orders that hold the source product. A confidence of 40% means 4 in 10 orders with the source product also hold the attached one.
  • Support: Co-orders divided by all orders in the range that hold at least one product.
  • Lift: Confidence divided by the share of all orders that hold the attached product. A lift above 1 means the pair sells together more than chance. A lift of 1 means the attached product sells just as often with or without the source.

Only the orders count, not the quantities. An order that holds 3 of the source product counts once.

A pair appears only if it has at least 5 co-orders and the source product is in at least 5 orders. The table lists up to 500 pairs. Its order comes from a score of 0.5 times Confidence (in percent), plus 15 times Lift, plus 0.5 times Support (in percent), with the highest first.

Summary Cards

  • Cross-Sell Pairs: the number of pairs listed.
  • Avg Confidence: the average Confidence of those pairs.
  • Avg Lift: the average Lift of those pairs, shown with a ×.

The averages are plain averages across the listed pairs, so every pair weighs the same.

What Counts

  • Orders that were canceled, or whose payment was voided or expired, don’t count.
  • Refunds and returns aren’t taken off. A refunded item still counts as bought.
  • Dates follow your store’s time zone.
  • With a Segment picked, only orders from customers in that segment count. Sales Channel and Filters limit the report to matching orders.

This report has no Compare control, no chart and no totals row.

What Good Looks Like

There’s no target. A pair with a high Confidence and a Lift well above 1 is worth testing as a cross-sell. A pair with a high Confidence and a Lift near 1 is mostly a popular product that sells with everything.

Watch Co-orders. A pair with 5 co-orders is based on little data.

What to Do About It

  • A pair with a high Lift: show the attached product on the source product’s page, or sell the 2 as a bundle.
  • A pair with a high Confidence but a Lift near 1: the attached product is a bestseller. Offer it, but don’t expect the source product to be why it sells.
  • The same pair in both directions: compare the 2 Confidence values. The higher one shows which product is the better page to add the other.

Products Purchased Together lists the same pairs by how often they appear, with no direction.
