How to Connect Google Analytics
Connecting Google Analytics lets By the Numbers read sessions and other traffic figures from one GA4 property. Once it’s connected, the GA4 CPC Sessions report fills in, and so do Conversion Funnel and Traffic & Conversions if you don’t use das Pixel.

Before You Start
- You need a Google login that can see your GA4 property.
- You need the Manage integrations permission in By the Numbers. Without it, Connect and Remove don’t appear.
Steps
- Open Integrations: Integrations, under Settings in the navigation.
- On the Google Analytics card, click Connect.
- Click Connect with Google.
- In the Google window, choose your account and allow access.
- Back in By the Numbers, choose your property under Google Analytics Property.
- Click Save.
By the Numbers asks Google for read-only access to your Analytics data. It can’t change anything in your Google Analytics account.
What Happens Next
The card moves to Connected. It shows the property you chose, and Last successful sync once the first sync finishes.
The first sync reads the last 15 months from your property. After that, By the Numbers syncs every 12 hours, and each sync reads the last 12 days again to pick up late changes.
GA4 figures appear in these reports:
- GA4 CPC Sessions: visits from paid ad clicks, and how many of them added to cart.
- Conversion Funnel and Traffic & Conversions: these use das Pixel when it’s installed. Without it, they use Google Analytics.
If You Didn’t Pick a Property
If you close the dialog before choosing a property, nothing syncs. After 5 minutes, the card shows Setup Required under Needs attention. Click Finish Setup to choose one.
If the dialog says No GA4 properties were found on this account, the Google login you chose can’t see a GA4 property. Remove Google Analytics, then connect again with a login that can.
Changing the Property
You can’t switch properties on a connected card:
- Open the menu at the top right of the Google Analytics card and choose Remove.
- Confirm with Remove.
- Connect again and choose the new property.
Removing Google Analytics deletes the GA4 figures By the Numbers had copied. Connecting again reads the last 15 months back in.
